SEC Football is about to kick off Week Ten! We here at Southbound and Down have come up with the three most compelling storylines to keep your eye on this week. Enjoy.

3. Can Kentucky Beat Georgia?

Georgia has had a rough time this season. They lost to Vanderbilt, which is not what you ever want to see if you’re a Dawg fan. Will they also lose to Kentucky? They might.

Kentucky is a team with a bad defense, so the Bulldogs should be able to move the football. However, the Wildcats boast a ferocious rushing attack. The Dawgs will have to load the box to stop it. That will open windows for Stephen Johnson to throw into. This should be a good game.

2. Can Austin Allen Overcome the Florida Secondary?

Florida has the best secondary in the SEC. Jalen Tabor and Quincy Wilson are both lockdown corners. Austin Allen, meanwhile, is one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC. So who will prevail? I tend to think Florida’s defense is just too much for the Hogs.

However, Allen and the Fighting Woo Pigs are at home, which can only help. Also, Allen has a deep, talented receiving corps to throw to. It should make for an excellent battle.

1. Who Wins, the Unstoppable Force or the Immovable Object?

Leonard Fournette is perhaps the greatest collegiate running back I have seen in my lifetime. However, last season the Alabama defense stuffed him all game. He was famously held to 31 yards on 19 carries.

This year, Fournette has missed some games with injuries, but when he has been healthy, he has been as dominant as ever. The Alabama defense, despite losing some of its key players from last season, remains one of the best in the country.

So who will win? Alabama will. They will shut down Fournette and dare Danny Etling to beat them. It is their only choice. Whether or not Etling can beat the Tide deep will determine whether or not Alabama leaves Baton Rouge with a victory.
