SEC Football: Week Eleven Power Rankings
The SEC Football season is already half way done. As conference play continues we are starting to see things clear up in regards to our power rankings. Today we will give you our Week Ten Rankings.
We’ll do the power rankings for all the SEC football teams like we did last time. We’ll give a few reasons why they’re there, though we’ll do it in three sentences or less. The number to the right of the team’s name is their overall record, followed by their conference record, and then finally by their ranking in last week’s Southbound and Down SEC Football Power Rankings. Let’s dive in.
14. Missouri
The Tigers are a really bad football team. There;s not much else to be said really. They aren’t good at any phase of the game.
13. Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt has a solid defense, and the offense looks to be improving. The Commodores gave the Auburn defense fits. However, this team still has a lot of growing to do.
12. Kentucky
The Wildcats had Georgia on the ropes but couldn’t close the deal. The running game remains great, but the passing game is shaky at best.
11. South Carolina
I’m very impressed with South Carolina lately. The Gamecocks are a young team who look to have found some momentum. We will find out just how much momentum when they play Florida this week.
10. Mississippi State
Mississippi State got a big upset win this week, but they still have a lot of ugly results on their resume. For now I can’t justify ranking them any higher. If they beat Alabama this weekend, then they will move up a long way.
9. Georgia
This is the worst Georgia team that I can remember, but at least the Bulldogs got a close win this week. I think they are better than all the teams below them, but not by as much as Dawg fans would like.
8. Ole Miss
Ole Miss is officially on life support now that Chad Kelly is out for the season. The Rebels may not even make a bowl this year. How they played Alabama so tight is anyone’s guess.
7. Tennessee
The Volunteers finally beat a cupcake in convincing fashion. The Volunteers are slowly getting healthier as the season progresses. They may well win the SEC East.
6. Florida
Florida got spanked thoroughly by Arkansas this week. The Gators are the class of the SEC East, which shows how bad the SEC East is this season. I don’t see any way that the Gators can beat LSU next week.
5. Arkansas
The calendar has turned to NovemBERT, and the Hogs are running wild. They face a tough matchup against LSU this week. If the Hogs win that one they will take home perhaps the ugliest trophy in sports.
4. LSU
LSU lost to Alabama, but the Tigers showed that they are a legitimate team. The defense is ferocious, and Leonard Fournette is great. Unfortunately the passing game still leaves a lot to be desired.
3. Texas A&M
A&M suffered an ugly loss this week. Worse still, they lost quarterback Trevor Knight for the season. The Aggies have a tough road ahead of them without Knight.
2. Auburn

Auburn almost got Vanderbilt’d this week. Instead, the Tigers escaped with an ugly win and remain in the top 10 of the College Football Playoff Rankings. The only realistic threat left to the Tigers is big, bad Alabama.
1. Alabama
Alabama played extremely poorly on offense against LSU for most of the night. The Tide still got a win thanks to the dynamic running of Jalen Hurts and a dominant performance by the defense. Eventually the passing game has to get better if the Tide want to win a national title this season.
