“The Swamp” isn’t just a nickname for a stadium. The city of Gainesville is situated centrally in Florida, in a hot, muggy, humid and unbearable climate. Other than the school, there isn’t much to offer. The topography is plain, the buildings somewhat run-down looking, and there isn’t a beach nearby to have a quick getaway.

If you are a party-driven undergrad and live on a liquid diet, then you’ll be right at home. Not the place where most would want to settle after school is completed though.

“Pretty co-eds and great party spots are about the only good thing I can say about Gainesville. If you like jorts and jell-0 shots, you’ll feel at home.”
