20 Mississippi State VS Missouri

Location: Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field, Columbia, MO

Game Time:  Thursday, November 5 9:00PM ET

TV:  ESPN

Mississippi State continues to win, and is doing so rather quietly.  I’m sure that’s the way the Bulldogs prefer to do it.  Thursday, Dan Mullen will lead his team into Columbia, MO with another opportunity at adding a conference win to its resume.  Missouri has a formidable defense, but Dak Prescott has played great ball to this point in his senior year.  The Missouri offense has looked stale all year, and that’s putting it kindly.  Things continue to get worse as Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk was announced suspended for the rest of the year this week.  Will Mississippi State make the mistake of underestimating an inferior opponent on the road?  Take into consideration this is a Thursday night game (which historically bodes well for the home team) and this one could be interesting late.

Kentucky VS Georgia

Location:  Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA

Game Time:  Saturday, November 7 12:00PM ET

TV:  SEC Network

Will Mark Richt survive another year, or is the time now for Georgia to move on?  Questions surrounding Mark Richt’s future have dominated water cooler talk in Athens and have sent Georgia’s disappointing season to the back burner for now.  Is a total collapse around the corner?  The Wildcats certainly looked like a program poised to take the next step earlier this year, but blowout losses the last two weeks have killed things.  The Wildcats will be looking to salvage what once started as a promising year.  Do the Wildcats even have a chance at Georgia?  Considering the state of things in Athens, I say yes.  Ultimately, this game will come down to which team shows up most inspired to play.  At least Kentucky knows Mark Stoops will be in Lexington next year.  Maybe that’s enough to get the Wildcats up to beat an uninspired Georgia team more worried about the future, instead of the present.
