Give Jim McElwain credit. First year in the SEC, and he takes his team to Atlanta. Incredible job, though it appears the cupboard wasn’t so bare after all. The Gators simply muscled through Vanderbilt, and did what they needed to continue the trek forward. A trip to South Carolina is on the docket, and not much drama is necessary with Steve Spurrier gone. Look for the Gators to come out playing more inspired ball this weekend. South Carolina could end the season with a top win under its belt by pulling the upset.
Kentucky VS Vanderbilt
Location: Vanderbilt Stadium, Nashville, TN
Game Time: Saturday, November 14 4:00PM ET
TV: SEC Network
Vanderbilt was oh so close last weekend against Florida. Oh so close. When Derek Mason wants to dial that defense in he’s normally spot on. The Gators were coming off a hangover, so I wouldn’t read much into that, but Vanderbilt is certainly more than capable of taking care of Kentucky at home. Talking about Kentucky, where do the Wildcats go from here? Losers in consecutive contests, the negativity has to be mounting. If Kentucky wants to go bowling they must win this weekend. They’re just as capable as Vanderbilt, but the more inspired team will prevail. This may be the sleeper game this weekend in the SEC.
