Well. At least Dak threw for 300 yards on Alabama, right? Prescott gave it his all, leaving it all out there, but he came up way short against Alabama. His inability to get the ball in end zone on 43 passing attempts and 26 rushing attempts negates the impressive yardage. Despite giving up 300 yards through the air, the Alabama defense forced the QB into 1 interception, held him to a 51.2 completion percentage and a total of 14 yards rushing on 26 attempts.
This game was perceived as a potential trip up game for the Crimson Tide, but Dak Prescott and Mississippi State were unable to live up to role of spoiler. There isn’t anything Dak can do to elevate himself back into Heisman contention this season.
This is not to downplay what Dak Prescott has done for Mississippi State. Dak has proven that, even in Starkville, the media and attention will flock to those that perform. Prescott gave Mississippi State what they haven’t had in years — that is an elite quarterback. Unfortunately, Prescott was never able to elevate himself into serious consideration for an invite to the Heisman ceremonies by year’s end, but his career at Mississippi State is second to none in comparison with those before him.
