Mark Richt is one of the longest tenured coaches in the SEC, and he’ll be the first in our series of SEC Head Coach Evaluations.

Whether in sports or life, people tend to think the grass is truly greener on the other side. The same can be said of SEC fans when it comes to their coaches.  Often fiercely loyal in the face of a rival, fans will immediately wish for someone else in the confines of like-minded fans.

Over the next few months we’ll examine the résumés of SEC coaches and determine whether they should stay or go (The Clash anyone?). Some, of course, will be shorter than others, these coaches will have left no doubt about the success or failure of their occupation. Some coaches will require a full evaluation, these coaches have both vehement support and fervent dissent.

One such coach is Mark Richt at The University of Georgia. While he has steered clear of any major controversy or hot seat seasons, he has also fallen short of expectations in the minds of some.  So…quite simply, should he stay or should he go now. . . (seriously, somebody cue The Clash for recommended listening).
