Exam week intruded on week six of SEC basketball. Some students perform well on exams, and some don’t. Some basketball teams perform well in exam week games, but few do.

It was exam week for SEC basketball in week six of the season. A light game schedule allowed players to concentrate on the “student” part of student-athlete. Basketball play suffered as a result, and the Southbound and Down SEC basketball exam grades reflect it.

Mississippi State takes first loss

Mississippi State finally played a good team, and number 25 ranked Cincinnati beat the Bulldogs 65-50. Three Mississippi State players scored in double figures, but only four scored.

The Bulldogs restarted their bully tour against UT – Martin, bouncing back with a 92-61 win.

Mississippi State Basketball exam grade – B minus.

Ole Miss beat Sam Houston but lost to Illinois State and the Rebels are 5 – 5.

Ole Miss basketball exam – grade C.

LSU beat Houston, but got a reality kick in the head from Stephen F. Austin, losing to the Lumberjacks 83-82.

LSU basketball exam grade – C plus
