  • Chris Carey: Pharoh Cooper

There wasn’t a lot to cheer about in South Carolina last season, but Pharoh Cooper’s name was certainly called a lot when good things were happening. A solid choice from our South Carolina editor for possible MVP.

Air-Spurrier has a chance to make a comeback with Cooper running wild on the field. He’s got length and speed and a pair of soft hands with excellent ball skills. Cooper finished the season with 1,136 receiving yards, and averaged a whooping 16.5 yards per catch. The question is, who will throw him the ball this season?

The unfortunate hallmark of the Spurrier era in South Carolina has surprisingly been the ongoing quarterback issues. But regardless of who is under center, they just need to fling it Cooper’s way, and he’ll likely go up and get it.
