No. 8: Potential Bust of the Year – Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State Bulldogs

Both Prescott and Mississippi State came out of nowhere last year to really challenge the powers in the SEC West. Was it a fluke? A result of scheduling? (they did have issues near the end of the season against tougher teams). Team of destiny?

Prescott showed a lot, and had little help in some games. But he also struggled at times. If he can come back in 2015 with the same kind of season, then the Bulldogs can go as far as he’ll take them, but without Prescott’s arm and legs doing the type of work they did last season, things could slide.

The Bulldogs have a couple of tough games (LSU, Auburn) near the beginning of the schedule, and then close out the season with the trifecta of Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss. Those two bookends on the season should tell us a lot about Prescott and his teammates.
