Jim McElwain – Florida Gators

Stock: Up

You could put the lifeless body of Rodney Dangerfield in a Florida coach uniform and prop him up against the Gatorade cooler and he’d get more respect and love than Will Muschamp from the Gator Nation.

McElwain has nowhere to go but up with the Gators, and he’ll probably add to his stock after this season. Florida’s defense will still be a good one, but the offense (even without a great recruiting class) will be vastly improved under the new coach.

The true test for McElwain’s stock will come after his second season, when results will be expected and not as appreciated. For now, he’s got a free pass (as long as the Gators don’t regress, if that’s possible).
