No. 2 – Auburn Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs

The “Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry” is the name of the football game these two schools play, and when they meet up either Between the Hedges or On The Plains, things are going to get pretty nasty.

The fans don’t like each other, the teams don’t like each other, and the peanut vendors don’t like each other (even their mascots famously get into the act).

This bit of Southeastern-Screw-You carries over into basketball, baseball, softball, swimming, golf….you name it, Georgia and Auburn hate each other.

The basketball rivalry had grown stale, but with Georgia now becoming more regularly associated with tournament teams and Auburn hiring Bruce Pearl to get them to that point, things are beginning to heat up again.

Never traverse through Athens, Ga. wearing orange and blue, yelling “War Eagle!” and never let yourself be seen donning red and black, woofing at the top of your lungs in Auburn, Al.
