  • When you think about hearing SEC games in just about any sport discussed in pregame and postgame shows, or having them commentated and analyzed with razor precision, the name Tim Brando no doubt comes to mind.

Brando, who is now calling games for FOX Sports nationwide, was the longtime voice of the SEC on CBS, both in the booth and in the studio, also hosting Raycom’s Emmy Award-winning show, Football Saturdays In The South. His southeastern roots made it a natural for him to cover the SEC, and he did so without shame or excuses.

And for more than 14 years, Tim’s voice could be heard over the radio on his nationally syndicated show on SiriusXM, broadcast from his home city of Shreveport, La. It was there that Brando was at his best. Unbridled, unapologetic and unstoppable, he pulled no punches and made audiences both love and hate him.

Sadly today, Brando signed off the air for the final time, ending the show’s run. The time involved in his duties for FOX Sports simply don’t allow him the time to continue his show.

“I didn’t anticipate all of that when I went to FOX, but it’s been great,” Brando told KSLA News. “It’s been the best career year of my life in TV, and that’s saying something because I’ve been pretty blessed. I felt a little stretched in terms of my priorities, and in this stage in my life I think 14 years is a great run in radio.”

It’s not goodbye for Brando, as we’ll all still get to enjoy his work on FOX, but to not have Timmy B’s voice there in that 3-hour radio slot will be odd indeed.

Brando has always been a proud representation of the SEC and all it stand for, and that will always be the case no matter where he is or what he is doing.

    See you on Saturdays, Tim.
