In Les Miles’ eleventh season in Baton Rouge, L.S.U isn’t expecting a repeat of 2014’s 8-5 debacle, and neither are the odds makers. In fact, ‘Vegas is giving the Bengals a fair shot at winning their first conference crown since 2011.
After being rocked by the NFL Draft in recent years, Coach Les Miles has turned youth into experience in the Bayou. With nine returning starters to ‘14’s ninth ranked defense in America, we can assume what the lucky number is.
But before Tigers fans can start buying tickets to the SEC Championship Game, there’s a quarterback battle that needs to be solved. It’s a heated battle between ’14 starter Anthony Jennings (1,611 yards/ 11 TD/ 7 INT) and challenger Brandon Harris (452 yards/6 TD/2 INT) that could continue into fall camp.
Whichever quarterback comes out on top will have the task of improving one of the nation’s worst passing attacks of ’14. That, or hand it off to Leonard Fortunette.
Keep their card: Talent and experience mix to create sky high expectations on the ‘Bayou, but Harris or Jennings must provide solid leadership and passing numbers if the Bengals are going to be a factor in the western division.
