3. Georgia Bulldogs (4/1)
The favorite in the eastern division, ‘Vegas believes that Georgia is a contender. However, Mark Richt and the Dawgs will have to prove that they belong.
Georgia Bulldogs
To gain that title, the first thing the Bulldogs will do is hand it off to Nick Chubb. Chubb only started in about half of Georgia’s games, but it didn’t stop the freshman from eating up 1,547 yards and dragging defenders along the way.
The second thing they’ll do is find a reliable starting quarterback. The race between Faton Bauta, Brice Ramsey, and Jacob Park is a good one. Whoever comes out on top will have confidence and security, especially with the insurance of Chubb. To add to that, the lucky winner will have a host of large and experienced lineman to protect him while he wings the balls to his receivers.
No superstars of note return on defense, and seven key losses will hurt, but it’s good to know that there are five seniors and eight returning starters returning to a top 20 unit of ’14. Plus, nobody will be complaining about the fact that a top five pass defense returns the whole secondary.
Old School and dangerous: ‘Running Back U’ has created another beast in the football factory, and the offensive coordinator will let him run wild this season. On the other side of the ball, the defense looks tough. The secondary should be tremendous. The Bulldogs have championship ingredients, and those ingredients will needed to be combined if Georgia is to win the SEC.
