13. Kentucky Wildcats (75/1)
There’s reason for excitement in Lexington this spring, and it’s not only surrounding the basketball program. 14 starters return to a squad that improved by leaps and bounds in 2014, and there’s a healthy quarterback competition between Drew Barker and Patrick Towles. And did I mention that UK has eight home games? That’s what I call an advantage.
The downside? Kentucky goes on the road to face a revenge-minded South Carolina, as well as late season tests against Mississippi State and Georgia. The ‘Cats host Florida, Missouri, Auburn, and Tennessee.
If Mark Stoops and the Cats can complete that gauntlet with only a loss or two, then perhaps they are conference championship material.
Win the home games and we’ll talk: If they can make it through the gauntlet with two losses or less, they might be able to sneak an upset in Atlanta. The problem is neither I nor ‘Vegas sees that happening.
