Tennessee is the only team in 2015 that has to face a really good non-conference opponent on home turf in September rather than at a neutral site.
The Volunteers will host the Oklahoma Sooners in their home opener and that will probably be their toughest home game of the season. That game will definitely set the tone for what is to come in Knoxville this fall.
If the Vols can pull the upset against the Sooners, watch out!
Neyland Stadium will play host to conference opponents Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. Four tough SEC opponents that the Volunteers are 4-9 against dating back to the 2011 season.
The Tennessee Volunteers will be battle tested at home this season. If they don’t get off to a quick start against Bowling Green in Nashville and then against Oklahoma the following week, it could be a long season for Volunteer faithful.
