Florida Gators
One of the hottest teams in college baseball is the Florida Gators. The Gators have won nine straight including an SEC title by a combined score of 83-18. Florida had absolutely no trouble with rival FSU during their Super Regional, becoming the second team to book a trip to Omaha in 2015.
Florida will be lead by a few young guns. On the mound will be two sophomores leading the charge. Logan Shore and 6 foot 7 left-hander A.J. Puk. The two have a combined 173 strikeouts. Florida’s bats have been solid of late with designated hitter/catcher J.J. Schwarz being named Collegiate Baseball’s Co-Freshman of the Year.
Schwarz is batting .600 at the plate since the NCAA Tournament commenced. The Gators have never won the College World Series, but have been runners up twice (2005, 2011).
