  • College Football is an unpredictable sport, and when it comes to the Iron Bowl, that unpredictability increases.

At least for now, Southbound and Down is calling for an upset in the Iron Bowl, and that upset will land the Crimson Tide in Atlanta.

‘Bama players and fans may be able to use this article for motivation, however.

The Tide are scary on defense, a beast returning eight starters, including three All-SEC selections. The starters that aren’t returning will be a quick reloading project for coordinator Kirby Smart.

On offense, the Crimson Tide will need to identify and develop a quarterback under coordinator Lane Kiffin, and most are assuming that quarterback will be Jacob Coker. Whoever plays quarterback should be tossing the bread to monstrous 6’3” 242-pound running back Derrick Henry, who is the cream of the crop in the SEC. Only three other starters return, but ‘Bama will be reloading as usual.

A College Football Playoff bid should be on the line when Nick Saban visits the Plains on the last weekend in November.
