Birmingham Bowl: Texas A&M

Conventional wisdom says that an SEC Eastern Division school will be placed here, but someone is going to get left out in the cold in the loaded Western Division. Most would say that school would be Mississippi State, but we think not.

Instead, we’re going with Texas A&M. While the name and location may be misleading, the Aggies could be contenders in the loaded West Division this fall.

The offense should score a lot of points with Kyle Allen winging it to a group of dangerous receivers. The line could use improvement, but has great potential. The defense has question marks, but inherits one of the best coordinators in the game.

A&M will have its hands full with a tough division, and the Aggies already have a home date in Houston during the regular season. Even if the boys from Texas finish ahead of Mississippi State, politics and geography could lead them into unwanted territory.
