Each season, bowl organizers will create an unexpectedly exciting match-up in a lower tier game. Neither fans nor media expected a ranked Georgia-Louisville match-up last December, as most anticipated South Carolina-Duke or Tennessee-Notre Dame.

    Southbound and Down crew foresees this kind of match-up, and if Tennessee executes as expected, Charlotte would be an excellent landing spot for the Vols.

    Butch Jones has this program headed in the right direction, with 17 starters returning. Joshua Dobbs will lead an offense that returns nine starters, including all three receivers. The defense is vastly improved and can only get better.

    UT has all of the tools necessary to turn around Rocky Top’s fortunes. The question is whether the Vols can finally meet expectations.
