So You’re Telling Me There’s a Chance

Hugh Freeze – Ole Miss Rebels
Dan Mullen – Mississippi State Bulldogs
Gary Pinkel – Missouri Tigers
Butch Jones – Tennessee Volunteers

Here you’ve got four coaches who have either been on the brink of getting it done, or are consistently on the upswing. Freeze and Mullen proved that Mississippi is not football purgatory in 2014, and have been recruiting with the best of them for several years.

Pinkel came into the SEC and, after one poor season of getting ramped up, managed to win the SEC East two years in a row. If the recruiting train can get out of the station in Columbia, this could be a program to watch.

Jones has had his hands full taking over a shambles of a program in Knoxville, and now has them looking like serious contenders in the East. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Vols landing in Top 10 territory this year and even further in years to come.
