Gary Pinkel (Evaluation)

Pinkel is tied with Mark Richt for the longest active tenure in the SEC East.  Pinkel loses out on the Dean of Coaches title, though, due to Mizzou being a part of the Big XII for most of his career.

It is easy to see why Mizzou has kept him around.  Pinkel has won 5 division titles (3 Big XII North: 2007-08, 2010; 2 SEC East 2013-2014) at a non-traditional power.  He was also the 2014 SEC Coach of the Year.

Many think Mizzou’s run will come to an end this year.  It is up to the coaches behind him on this list to prove they are up to the task.  Had Pinkel been able to defeat Auburn or Alabama in his SEC Championship appearances, he would have a stronger case for #1.
