Georgia/Calling the Dogs
Having a chant before and during a kickoff is not unique to Georgia. But the extended chant of “Gooooooooo . . .” from the time the kicker readies himself up until his foot finally makes contact with the ball is aptly unique at Georgia.
“Gooooooooooooooo………”
“….Dawgs! Sic ‘em! Woof! Woof! Woof!”
I vividly remember my fist experience between the hedges and finally came to the conclusion that there was no preset number of “woofs” to be howled. If there actually is, someone should inform the student section immediately. But I think the overriding passion is part of what makes this chant so great.
