Insert the rant about breaking in a new quarterbacks and having a stud to help aid the transition here. Dylan Thompson graduated and moved on, leaving the Gamecocks with a quarterback battle in 2015. Connor Mitch is the favorite, but whoever wins already has their favorite target: Pharoh Cooper.
Pharoh Cooper is one of the top 3 wide receivers in the SEC in 2015. Whoever wins the quarterback battle will have an easier life than most first year starting quarterbacks due to the presence of Cooper.
Even if Cooper does not put up monster numbers this season, his presence will have an impact. The quarterback will know that slot receivers and tight ends will be open often due to Cooper drawing safety help. Whether the quarterback can take advantage is a different topic entirely.
