Alabama: Quarterback Battle
For Alabama, the storyline to watch heading into fall camp is the quarterback battle. As with last year, the Crimson Tide will be breaking in a new quarterback with little or no game experience. This is truly a repeat of last year when it was projected that Jacob Coker would walk in and seize control of the quarterback position.
Coker struggled with the playbook, however, and allowed a converted running back in Blake Sims to take control of the quarterback position. Sims never relinquished it, and for good reason. Alabama’s offense experienced a renaissance of sorts under the tutelage of Kiffin and Sims. The Crimson Tide offense must find a quarterback. If Coker isn’t ready to seize the job, a group of underclassmen stand ready to do so.
