Ole Miss:  Quarterback Battle

We examine yet another quarterback battle, further evidence of just how important the position is in today’s game.  Hugh Freeze and the Rebels enter their first season together without Bo Wallace under, or four steps behind rather, center.  The quarterback battle is the chief storyline, although offensive line woes from a year ago are a close second.  The arrival of Chad Kelly should not be taken lightly, considering Freeze had two seasoned backups that he did not feel comfortable giving the job to.  A consensus around the SEC is you cannot win big without a quarterback (see LSU).

As a result, the Rebels ability, or inability, to find a quarterback is something to watch.  Look for the Rebels to name a starter prior to the third game of the season against Alabama.
