Week 1 – Sept. 5: Louisville, Georgia Dome – Atlanta, Georgia

This is the first matchup between Louisville and Auburn since the season opener of the 1974 season in Birmingham, Alabama. That game finished as a 16-3 victory for the Tigers in front of 25,000 fans.

This year in the Georgia Dome, there will be thousands more spectators with all eyes on the Tigers and Cardinals as they open up the 2015 season in a battle of two top conferences, the Atlantic Coast Conference vs. SEC.

A big deal was made of the cross conference games between the ACC and SEC during the final week of the 2014 season in which, for the first time in 14 years, the ACC swept its non-conference rivals.

It will be evident from this season opening game that the roles will be reversed between the two leagues this year. Despite Clemson, Florida State and Georgia Tech being the conference’s likely favorites to break into the College Football Playoff at the end of the season, the SEC will dominate their rival conference in 2015.

Auburn will look hungry defensively in the opening game and will win the game by at least two touchdowns.

Record after week one: 1-0

Next: Week 2: Jacksonville State
