Week 9 – Oct. 31: Away @ Auburn, Jordan-Hare Stadium Auburn, Alabama
I thought this game last season was a real turning point in the Rebels’ year. The team had momentum coming down the stretch and were looking to take the lead away from No. 3 Auburn in a battle of top five teams. The Rebels ended up losing 35-31 in a nail bitter.
Then Laquon Treadwell got taken down as he drug a defender towards the goal line. Treadwell fumbled the ball and the Tigers recovered. Treadwell’s season ended and so didthe Rebels’ hopes of winning the SEC West. A complete tear-jerker of a game for Rebels fans.
The Rebels fumbled the ball twice near the goal line in the fourth quarter and their top receiver gets sidelined for the rest of the season. What will be going through the Rebels’ minds as they go into Auburn during 2015? I’m sure nothing but that storyline.
Being so focused on the heartbreak of last year will be a major setback for the Rebels as the Tigers come out firing in week nine. Engram will have a big game for the Rebels but the defense of the Tigers will prevail. I predict the scoreline of the defensive battle to be in the range of 10-14 in favor of Auburn.
Record after week nine: 7-2
