Week 5 – Oct. 3: Away @ Florida, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Gainesville, Florida
The Rebels will overlook the Gators in week five. The Gators are another team who will be in the midst of a quarterback battle by the time the Rebels come to town but will take even longer to make a decision than most people would have hoped.
With the departure of former QB Jeff Driskel, the Gators are left deciding between sophomore Treon Harris or redshirt freshman Will Grier. Neither quarterback has been able to separate himself from the other through Spring and Fall camps.
The Gators will rely on the arm of Grier to win this game because their early attempts to run the ball will be to no avail. The Rebels defensive backs will get beat on two big plays by the Gators, both ending in seven points.
The Rebels will lose this game by three points and be extremely angry they let a lesser opponent steal a game they should have won.
Record after week five: 4-1
