Saying Machine Gun Kelly is the best quarterback in the SEC is quickly becoming semi-automatic.  Deriving puns from the combination of Chad Kelly’s game and his preseason off the field woes is incredibly easy and fun.  Listening to his raps are even more fun.  But, if you’re an Ole Miss fan, watching him sling the ball all over the field like he was still playing quarterback at East Mississippi Community College is the most fun.

I know it was junior college, but look up his stats from his season there.  In the National Championship versus Iowa Western, he was 40-53 for 434 yard, 5 touchdowns and no picks according to njcaa.org.  Oh, that was against lesser competition.  Well, Kelly led his team to average 74.5 points through the first two games of the season.  Oh, that was still against lesser competition.  Then they went to Tuscaloosa. Now people are watching.  Kelly’s stat line read 18/31, 341 yards and 3 touchdowns with 0 interceptions.  He also added 21 yards and a touchdown rushing the ball.  Kelly led his team to a victory in Tuscaloosa, their first since 1988, and their first back to back wins against Alabama in team history.  You lead the offense that hangs up 43 on Alabama in Tuscaloosa during a prime time game, and you are definitely SEC Heisman Hopeful relevant.
