3 Ole Miss VS 25 Florida

Location: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, FL

Game Time: Saturday, October 3 7:00PM ET

TV:  ESPN

Ole Miss had a rather pedestrian win last Saturday against Vanderbilt.  The Gators pulled off a stunning, and morale building, win against rival Tennessee.  Does Ole Miss remain flat against the Gators, or do the Gators come in deflated from the emotions of last week?

Maybe neither happen and it’s simply a good game where execution, talent, depth, coaching, and will-power prevail.  One thing is for certain, this game has upset alert written all over it.  It would be in Ole Miss’s best interest not to mess around with Florida for long.  The Florida faithful are hungry to reestablish themselves atop the college football world.

My how the times have changed. A few years ago the rankings very easily could have been reversed.  Ole Miss is about to find out what it’s like to enter a hostile SEC environment as the hunted.  Sure they went into College Station and Baton Rouge last year with a single digit ranking next to their name, but let’s be real, who really took them serious at the time?  A year later, the same has happened again and everyone is taking Ole Miss serious.

Florida will be entering Saturday night’s contest with a lot of confidence and momentum, carrying a perfect 4-0 record.  The Gators possess a great pass defense that will test Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly and the excellent Ole Miss receiving corps.  Will the Gators utilize the same defensive schemes that Derek Mason at Vanderbilt confused Chad Kelly with last Saturday?  The Cover 2 certainly helps combat the homerun play.

Side Note I:  Watch a future NFL battle when Laquon Treadwell and Vernon Hargreaves III face off against each other for the first time since the Under-Armour All-American game a couple years ago.

Side Note II:  Will Laremy Tunsil be cleared to play for the Rebels?  The left tackle is a projected top 10 pick for the 2016 NFL draft.
