Leonard Fournette.  The Tigers’ College Football Playoff hopes and dreams revolved on this homegrown superstar. Unfortunately, that dream might’ve come to an end on Saturday night after they lost to detested western division superpower Alabama for the fifth time in a row at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

While an upset loss by the Crimson Tide could land LSU back in the conference’s championship game in Atlanta, perhaps Les Miles should turn his attention elsewhere.  Perhaps the best place would be to the wildly unpredictable Arkansas Razorbacks.

After that, Ole Miss shouldn’t be easy either.  The underdog has had a tendency to win the Magnolia Bowl recently. Finally Texas A&M, is well, Texas A&M.  They are just a team that hasn’t defeated the Bayou Bengals since their entry into the Southeastern Conference.

While it’s not what they wanted, LSU’s new goal should be to focus on winning their remaining games and finding general improvement after the ‘Bama debacle.

Then, perhaps, things work in their favor.  They have a a large fan base, superstar coach and a Heisman-candidate running back. They’ll be an easy sell for a New Year’s Six game, perhaps the Sugar or Peach Bowl.

Heck, their television marketability might be enough, even if they lose one to Mississippi, Arkansas, or Texas A&M (probably not the latter.)

We’ll see.  For now we’ve got the Bayou Boys staying instate for the holidays. Not too bad of a deal if you ask me.

Remaining Schedule: Arkansas, at Mississippi, Texas A&M
