The Bulldogs’ postseason landing spot largely depends on the outcome of the ‘Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry’ this weekend against Gus Malzhan and the Auburn Tigers. We think the Dawgs’ will experience an upset loss, further throwing Mark Richt’s status as head coach in doubt.

With that being said, a lame-duck head coach and an angry fan base are never a good combination when bowl organizers are looking to invite a team to a game. More than ever, they want a team confident and proud.  They also want that team to come with a fan base willing to travel to watch their team duke it out with a team they probably wouldn’t see elsewhere.

With fans who dream of division, conference, and national championships yearly, Georgia wouldn’t be too excited with any mid-level bowl. There landing spot won’t be too bad, but an angry fan base might not show out too strong for an unintriguing bowl game.

On a side note: if the Dawgs’ knock off Auburn, they’ll definitely contend for a spot in Orlando. The question is if fans will care.

Remaining Schedule: at Auburn, Georgia Southern, at Georgia Tech
