The Rebels were once a playoff contender, but a loss to Arkansas means that the possibility is out the window.
Basically a carbon copy of last season, at least Mississippi still has the opportunity to qualify for a New Year’s Six Bowl. To score a bid to the Sugar Bowl, they’d probably need to knock off both LSU and Mississippi State. They would need that coupled with Florida losing to Alabama (their most likely SEC Championship opponent) after falling to either Florida State or South Carolina.
However, Southbound and Down doesn’t foresee this. Rather, the vision shows a more realistic solution. We don’t think the Rebs can hang with LSU (we wouldn’t be surprised if they did, though), but they’ll get revenge on in-state nemesis Mississippi State. The reward? A free trip to Disney World.
Remaining Schedule: LSU, at Mississippi State
Prediction: Citrus Bowl
Next: Florida: Peach Bowl
