Arkansas VS 9 LSU

Location: Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge, LA

Game Time: Saturday, November 14 7:15PM ET

TV:  ESPN

Did Bret Bielema go out to Vegas last Friday night and pickup another lady?  Not quite sure, but it certainly appears Bielema has Lady Luck on his side these days.  A four overtime win over Auburn three weeks ago, and now a one-point, single overtime road victory over Ole Miss.  If you haven’t seen the 4th and 25 play that kept the Razorbacks alive in overtime I suggest you do yourself a favor and watch it.  Incredible.  Arkansas went on to score a touchdown during that overtime period to match the Rebels, and then Bielema flexed his alpha-dog muscle by opting for two instead of the traditional one to tie the game.  The first try was unsuccessful, but a facemask kept the Razorbacks alive one again. This time Brandon Allen ultimately put the ball across the goal line to win the game.  Arkansas walked away victorious.

Flip over to LSU, and the night was less, much less, dramatic.  LSU took its highly regarded rushing attack into Tuscaloosa, and was virtually shut down the entire night.  Leonard Fournette had the worst game of his college career, and the Tigers were left with a loss that certainly has to linger from deep within.  How much of a hangover can be expected from the deflating loss, and what could that mean when it clashes with the supreme confidence Arkansas is operating with at the present time?

On paper the Tigers appear to be the better team, and playing at home under the lights you have to feel safe putting your money with LSU.  Still, Arkansas is a more than capable program, but it will take some Alpha-Dog moves and Lady Luck for Bret Bielma to walk away with another road victory.  Tiger Stadium is much more intimidating than Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and a rivalry factor between the Razorbacks and Tigers is certainly at play.  The Battle for the Golden Boot will be one to watch Saturday night, and my gut tells me it’ll be a close one.
