The 2015 Kentucky Blue/White Game had to be cancelled due to work being done on the stadium. Going into the spring of 2015, there was reason to believe Kentucky was going to have a huge football season. There was a buzz around head coach Mark Stoops and then-Junior Patrick Towles.
Going into this spring game at Kentucky, there’s a question as to whether or not Stoops and Towles are as good as we thought they were after the 2014-15 season.
Patrick Towles regressed in every major category last season and the defense didn’t do Kentucky any favors. To be fair to the defense, Towles threw for only 9 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The offense couldn’t give the defense a breather.
I’m looking to see if Patrick Towles comes out with a renewed passion for the game. That will show if he has improved on his reads, timing and discipline. If he has improved and studied the game this offseason, Kentucky fans may see a flash or two of things they like this spring. The question becomes: Will they be there to see it after such a disappointing season in 2015.
