Tennessee:  Orange and White Game

Sat. April 16, 2 p.m.

SEC Network

2015 Attendance:  63,016

Expectations were sky high last year, and they started with the 2015 Orang and White Game.  Fans knew they had recruited well.  Fans knew they had a genius quarterback with a huge head and fans were experiencing a hope they’d been missing since the 90’s.  Then they were painfully reminded of the truth.

Their head coach is Butch Jones.

How Butch Jones handles late game situations this spring is what I’ll be paying attention to during the Orange and White Game.  I could regurgitate the idiocy of some of his calls last year  but that’d be a waste. We all know that if pretty much anybody else had been calling plays for Tennessee in late game situations last year, the team would have been SEC East Champions and possibly playing in a major bowl game.

The talent is there.  The first 50 minutes of coaching are there.  If Tennessee is behind with less than 10 minutes, then the coaching is there.  This year is all on Butch Jones, so I am interested at who seems in control of the play calling on the sidelines this year.
