Lou Groza Award

The Lou Groza Award goes to the nation’s top Collegiate Place-Kicker.  While some SEC football schools have struggled at the position recently, it should be no surprised at the emphasis placed on the position.  No one cares about the kicker until you lose by one or two and had a missed field goal.  Or when your favorite team wins on a 40+ yard field goal as time expires.  Then we all remember how important he is.  Or when the Mad Hatter calls a fake to the kicker that wins an important SEC football, as captured above.  The SEC isn’t as well represented on this watch list, but it still has its share.

Daniel Carlson, Junior – Auburn

Trent Domingue, Senior – LSU

Elliott Fry, Senior – South Carolina

Adam Griffith, Senior – Alabama (yes, really)
