It’s no secret that Gators head coach, Jim McElwain, has his work cut out for him this season. The Gators will look to repeat as SEC East champs, and hopefully catch the eyes of some top recruits.

Florida Gators football is known for its ability to bring in great talent. Let’s start with Jake Allen. The gunslinger from St. Thomas Aquinas has the potential to come in and make an immediate impact for the Gators. The goal is to get him to believe in the program. The Gators need to consider developing him immediately.

Recently, a slew of Florida quarterbacks have taken their talents elsewhere, with Treon Harris being the latest Gator to decide to transfer.

Let’s just hope that McElwain can keep Allen around long enough to make him the go-to-guy for the Gators.

Adarius Lemons is a recent pick up for the Gators. Lemons is the No. 1 rated running back in the state of Florida. Originally committed to UNC, Lemons flipped his choice, which led to an outburst of support from Gators fans on Twitter.

It’s pretty clear that the coaching staff in Gainesville is in love with this kid. Can’t blame them. He’s elusive and fast, but has the power to fight for extra yardage.

Zachary Carter was a huge grab for the Gators. Carter’s one of the best d-ends in the nation. He runs a 4.9, measures in just shy of 6’5″ and weighs somewhere in the ballpark of 250. It’ll be scary to see this kid develop into a monster, like many former Florida defensive ends before him.

    In The Mix

    JERRY JEUDY!

I can’t say it any louder. This guy, is arguably the most sound and poised receiver in this class. He absolutely stole the show at Florida’s Friday Night Lights showcase.

His footwork, frame and hands are all great assets that will push him to be the number one option right away. He’s said that UF and Bama are now at the top for him.

    Class Grade: A-

Given the time, I decided to regrade this class. Originally, I gave the Gators a B-/B grade based on program prestige versus recruit interest. But, with the addition of Lemons and the Jeudy relationship growing stronger, it seems like the Gators are trending in the right direction. I think the Gators should make the song “All The Way Up” their anthem this year, because that’s where this team seems to be going if they can continue to bring in stellar in-state talent.
