As we continue to dream of SEC football, we’ll look at each team and tell you who their best player is. Arkansas football is up next, and their competition is wide open after losing a ton of talent in 2015.

Each SEC football team has at least a few studs. Whether it be their middle linebacker, corner, wide receiver or quarterback, each fan base has those few guys they can point to and say “he’s that dude.” The question becomes, though, who is the best?
Arkansas football lost a ton of talent to the NFL last year. The Razorbacks will be without their leading tight end, starting quarterback and basically their entire backfield. While their defense has improved, there is no reason to believe their best player comes from that side of the ball.

Arkansas football coach Bret Bielema would probably prefer if his best player were his running back. While that may be true by season’s end, we’ll go with the proven commodity for now.
Offensive coordinator Dan Enos has done two things during his time with Arkansas football: run the ball and dump to the tight end often. Last year’s scheme helped Hunter Henry win last season’s Mackey Award — given to the best at the tight end position. Arkansas football will be looking for a repeat in 2016.
Jeremy Sprinkle will be the best player for Arkansas foot ball in 2016. Henry had 739 receiving yards to go with 3 touchdowns last season and now Sprinkle will take over. While Sprinkle didn’t have near the receiving yards of Henry, he was more valuable in the end zone — snagging 6 touchdowns. Those six scores were best in the SEC.

Sprinkle also had 389 yards receiving for Arkansas football last year, which placed him 5th in the conference. Without Hunter Henry garnering post of the looks, expect a breakout year for Jeremy Sprinkle. While it will be tough for Sprinkle to convince voters Arkansas football isn’t just producing a tight end friendly system and win the Mackey Award, he should put up monster yards and scores. As he does, he’ll prove to be the best to represent Arkansas football in 2016.
