Last season Rawleigh Williams showed major flashes despite getting only minor playing time. As a freshman he carried the ball 56 times for 254 yards, good for 4.5 yards per carry. Unfortunately, just as Williams was really getting going he sustained a serious neck injury against Auburn that required surgery.

But now Williams is healthy again, and looking to earn the starting running back job in the Hogs’ power-running attack. Alex Collins is a Seattle Seahawk, so the only real competition for Williams is senior Kody Walker. Walker is powerful but not particularly fast, as is to be expected when a back is 6’2″ 247 pounds. Williams offers a more balanced running style, and that is why I believe he will win the job and become a major piece of the Arkansas attack this season.
