Kerryon Johnson is a dynamic, explosive running back. Last year he took snaps at running back as well as at quarterback in the wildcat formation. Johnson averaged four yards per carry as a backup to Peyton Barber and Jovon Robinson. He also gained 159 receiving yards on 14 catches.

When Jovon Robinson was dismissed from Auburn, it set the stage for Johnson to become the number one running back. Given the facts that Gus Malzahn likes to lean heavily on the run, the quarterback situation is still up in the air, and there are no other experienced options to turn to, this year’s Auburn offense could be “The Kerryon Johnson Show.” He is quite skinny, at 6’0″ 195, so let’s hope that he can stay healthy for the duration of a season in the SEC West.
