SEC Breakout Players 2016
Derrius Guice, RB, LSU
Last season, Derrius Guice served as the primary backup to Leonard Fournette. Guice picked up 436 yards on just 51 carries. For my fellow math-impaired out there that’s 8.5 yards per carry! Guice is explosive, though not quite as big and strong as Fournette.

Don’t expect Guice to threaten Fournette’s status as the number one back on the Bayou, because that’s not happening. But you can expect Guice to see more touches this season. He’s just too much of a weapon not to use more frequently. Also, keeping Leonard Fournette healthy and fresh is vital if LSU wants to make the College Football Playoff this season. Expect to see a lot more of Guice this season.
