Mississippi State over South Carolina (+6.5), Saturday 6:00 PM (CT), Davis Wade Stadium

The only thing that I can guarantee about this game is that it will be practically unwatchable. The Will Muschamp era got off to a good start with a comeback win over Vanderbilt, but it certainly wasn’t pretty. The defense performed well under Muschamp, but it’s hard to get a good read considering how inept Vanderbilt is on offense.

Everyone knew that Mississippi State would struggle to replace Dak Prescott this year, but no one would’ve guessed that it would be this bad. Like Kentucky, the Bulldogs blew a lead at home to a team they had no business losing to. This game will likely be low scoring as both teams are a mess offensively. It’s hard for me to imagine Dan Mullen starting the season 0-2 against two bad teams so I’m picking the Bulldogs, but who knows? Prediction: Mississippi State 17, South Carolina 14
