SEC Football: Week Three Predictions
By Jake Ingram
Ole Miss (+10) over Alabama, Saturday 2:30 PM (CT), Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
Ole Miss getting +10 at home is insane. Especially when you consider the strength of the Rebels, which is their defensive line, plays directly into Bama’s weak offensive line. Everyone seems to be all in on Jalen Hurts, but I’m not. He’s shown flashes, but I haven’t seen anything to make me think that he is consistent enough of as a passer to beat Ole Miss on the road. On the other side, Ole Miss has the defense to put some points up on Bama despite their own troubles along the offensive line.
Despite Ole Miss’ prolific passing attack, I believe this game will be a fairly low scoring. Bama’s defense is simply too good to allow a lot of points and the Rebels defensive line is nasty. Expect Ole Miss to harass Jalen Hurts and force the freshman into some critical mistakes as the Rebels manage to win a 3rd straight game against Saban. Prediction: Ole Miss 24, Alabama 17
