Who’s In the College Football Playoff?

Quite simply, whoever comes out of the SEC West will more than likely find themselves in the College Football Playoff. Unless Georgia (or another team from the East) puts together one of those “team of destiny” seasons, it’s doubtful either LSU or Alabama would fall.

The Big 12 found themselves shut out of the playoff for the second time in three years. Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma may have something to say about that this season. The Big Ten may be looking at a huge down year for several top teams. If either Michigan or Ohio State can’t find some magic, this may be the first year since its inception that the playoff has no Big Ten representative.

For early-season quick predictions (and I reserve the right to change this as Spring football develops), here’s a possible final four teams:

SEC – LSU
ACC – Florida State
Pac-12 – USC
Big 12 – Oklahoma
