SEC Football Coaches Who Will Shine

Will Muschamp – South Carolina

The Muschamp-bashers may have to take a seat in 2017. While South Carolina isn’t going to make anyone think they are the SEC East winners from the Steve Spurrier era, all signs point to Muschamp making some good decisions and knowing the coaches to hire that will cover up his shortfalls.

The Gamecocks have a pretty favorable schedule this year, with no LSU or Alabama to face in the regular season. Things will look up for Muschamp and his team.

Ed Orgeron – LSU

Orgeron wasn’t the favorite to land the LSU job, but the unbridled support of his players did a lot to sway the decision in his direction. That kind of loyalty and dedication can make up for a lot of missing pieces on the field.

It’s clear this was a better team under Orgeron last season, but how much of that was just emotion after suffering under Les Miles’ offensive yoke for so long? How Orgeron handles the quarterback situation will be a key to his success.
