Ole Miss (18-11, 9-7 in SEC) @ Alabama (16-12, 9-7 in SEC)

8:30 EST – SEC Network

This is the main event of the SEC schedule for Wednesday night. The two teams that are tied for fifth place in the SEC will duel in Tuscaloosa and this game will determine who wins the potential tiebreaker.

Ole Miss comes into this game as winners of four of their last five games. The Rebels rank no. 72 in the RPI and have the no. 67 SOS.

The Rebels’ one-two punch of Deandre Burnett (17.1) and Sebastian Saiz (15.1) are both in the top 10 in the SEC in points per game. Saiz’s 10.8 rebonds per game are three more than the next most in the SEC.

Alabama comes into this matchup after losing five of their last eight games, and two of those wins came against Missouri and LSU, the two worst teams in the SEC. The Crimson Tide rank no. 90 in the RPI and have the no. 81 SOS.

If Alabama is going to win this game, they are going to have to slow down the tempo.

Alabama ranks 13th in the SEC, averaging 68.9 points per game. They have only scored 80 points four times in SEC play this season. Two of those were against LSU and one of them was their 4OT win over South Carolina.
