TE, O.J. Howard

I am on the record as saying Howard will be a MUCH better pro player than he was in college. Alabama (Lane Kiffin) didn’t use him correctly or enough. I can’t tell you how many times I screamed that at the TV the last few years. What he did against Clemson the last two years is what he is capable of every week. Good thing I’m not bitter though.

Howard’s breakout at the combine started way back at the Senior Bowl, as he blew scouts away during practice and was easily the best player there in limited playing time during the game.

At the combine he continued where he left off.

He ripped off a 4.51 40-time, while weighing a solid 250 pounds, for the second fastest time among tight ends. He did 22 reps of 225 on the bench press (one more than Jonathan Allen). And was the fastest time for tight ends on the 20-yard shuttle, the three-cone drill and the 60-yard shuttle.
